“Major Grom: Game Against the Rules” is a series about tension, choice, and playing on the edge. It was important for us to create an opening that doesn’t just introduce the universe, but fully immerses the viewer in it.


Opening

For the opening, we designed a concept where the viewer is literally inside a countdown. Each episode focuses on a different character.

The opening becomes a visual metaphor for the series — the characters exist within a system set to explode.







Logotype

We updated the title from the feature film for the series. The goal was to preserve the original idea while creating a horizontal version with a new descriptor: “Game Against the Rules.”




Character cards & archival documents

The characters are revealed through archival slides shown on a projector.

We designed character “cards” and a system of archival documents — from typography and layout to material textures. A separate challenge was animating the behavior of an analog projector.




Digital graphics were given a tangible sense of time.





Yulia Pchyolkina’s blog

We developed the design and animation for Yulia Pchyolkina’s news blog — a digital space where she shares news and personal commentary.

The goal was to create a believable media channel within the series’ world: modern, dynamic, and slightly provocative.

We designed the interface, visual system, and animation — from headlines and lower-thirds to comment appearance and feed dynamics.







Interfaces and HUD graphics

We created a system of on-screen graphics and interfaces within the series — from tactical HUDs to media inserts:

— animation of Holt’s suit on a tablet screen

— POV shots from soldiers’ cameras

— the interface of a digital chess duel in the finale

— news channel design

— in-episode transitions (“one year earlier” and other time cards)

The goal was to build a unified digital environment for the series’ universe — technological, tense, and dramaturgically grounded.
