10 animated 2D reels for the social media channels of 8BIT magazine.
Last year, we met the team behind 8BIT — Yandex Education’s media brand exploring technology, the people who create it, and the opportunities it unlocks.
Our task was to introduce the brand’s audience to innovations through a series of short animated videos, making complex information feel accessible, friendly, and just a little mischievous.
We immersed ourselves in the magazine’s illustration style, got to know its characters, and expanded their world with a cast of new heroes. Together, they helped us tell several stories about some of the most fascinating technologies and possibilities shaping the field today.
Through the reels, we answered the pressing questions we had often wondered about ourselves. Can the internet be destroyed? Will neural networks replace us? And is it possible to build a lightsaber like the one in Star Wars?
Guiding us through these discoveries was Eight, the brand’s main character.
